Really the best bbq around. This is coming from someone who is a self declared foodie who grew up in NYC and has been to cities all over the world.
Their fish tacos are crispy and light.
The beef is super succulent and tender.
Sauces pair perfectly.
Sides are homey and go hand in hand with your entree.
KFC (korean fried cauliflower) is a rift on a dish popularly done at Asian fusion restaurants...and they've nailed it the flavor profile and timed the fry perfect.
I order lunch delivered from here and regularly stop in. A must if you're just passing through or looking to add a new favorite to your rotation -

We stopped for a quick dinner while we were driving through Tennessee. It's a cute, clean little place, and the cuban sandwich was AMAZING.
It wasn't the fastest stop, but we wanted a chance to stretch our legs so we didn't mind. -

In honor of Taco Tuesday, today I visited Up in Smoke Barbecue & Catering Company where tacos are buy 2 get 1 free on Tuesday. As a first time patron of the restaurant I was thoroughly impressed by the owner's hospitality. He was warm and inviting and made you feel right at home. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. As this place is known for its BBQ (specifically its Korean BBQ taco) I opted for two of the BBQ tacos - The Korean BBQ and the Tex Mex (which are both standard menu items). As a self proclaimed seafood lover I opted for the fish taco (on the specials menu) as my final taco selection. The tacos were naturally all very delicious and did not disappoint.
The Korean BBQ combination of flavors paired with each other perfectly. It was spicy without being too spicy and had an overall great balance of ingredients. The Tex Mex brought me back to my time living in Texas. The brisket was some of the best brisket I have ever tasted. And the pico de gallo had just enough spice to leave a little tingle on your tongue. But the sleeper hit of the day was by far the fish taco!! I have tried fish tacos from every establishment I have ever found them at - from San Diego to Caribbean Islands - and this again was hands down one of the best fish tacos I have ever had the pleasure to eat. Some may be shocked to find out that this fish taco came together from an owner originally from Oklahoma. But MY biggest shock was to find out that this amazing taco is not currently on the regular menu (as I personally think it may still need some time to gain traction in the area).
So if you have never been to Up in Smoke I highly recommend trying it out for Taco Tuesday. I bet not only will you love the tacos, but you will also be counting the days until you can go back to try out the rest of the BBQ menu. And to all my fish taco lovers reading this post - I implore you to order, order, order the fish tacos so we can show its demand and keep it on the menu! -

This place was a great find! It wasn't very busy when we arrived, but it may have been due to the hours in the website stating they didn't open until 4pm, and the hours in the door were earlier. I wanted the brisket sandwich, but was served the brisket tacos; they were so good I didn't complain. Interesting mix, great flavor, will definitely be back!

So far, so good. Got carry out. Parking in the rear. Nothing fancy but it was good and reasonably priced.
